Great Lakes League Hiring Umpires Across Michigan
The Great Lakes Baseball and Softball League (GLBSL) announced today that it is actively recruiting baseball and softball umpires across the state of Michigan ahead of the league’s upcoming inaugural season.
League officials say they are seeking umpires in all 20 of the league’s operating regions to help officiate games throughout the season. Both experienced umpires and individuals interested in becoming part of the officiating community are encouraged to apply as the league builds its statewide officiating staff.
Under the league’s game format, umpires will work doubleheader game days, rotating responsibilities between home plate and field positions during the two-game set. This system ensures consistent officiating while allowing umpires to share duties behind the plate and on the bases.
The Great Lakes Baseball and Softball League is currently preparing for its first season with teams forming across Michigan, and officials say hiring qualified umpires is an important step in building a professional and well-organized league environment.
Umpires interested in working games for the Great Lakes Baseball and Softball League are encouraged to reach out as the league continues assembling its statewide officiating crews.
